Forty-four buildings across County Tipperary will benefit from €367,285 in funding. Seven thatched buildings will receive €21,377 to help with ongoing care and maintenance.

County Tipperary has received almost €389,000 from the Built Heritage Investment Scheme. This funding will help preserve the county’s treasured historic buildings. Tipperary County Council leads the local effort, supporting owners and caretakers in safeguarding these architectural gems for future generations.

Forty-four buildings across County Tipperary will benefit from €367,285 in funding. Seven thatched buildings will receive €21,377 to help with ongoing care and maintenance.

The largest grant in County Tipperary, €18,000, will breathe new life into the old Courthouse in Mullinahone. Thurles Cathedral is set to receive €14,000 for a much-needed new roof, while the Catholic Churches in Cashel and Clonoulty are awarded €10,000 and €7,000. In Cashel, major restoration is underway, including a new roof and vital waterproofing, with the parish bravely taking on €250,000 in debt for these works and for painting the church in Rosegreen. Fundraising efforts to support these expenses are ongoing, including events like the St Brigid’s Day Tea party in Halla na Féile on February 1.

Boherlahan will receive €9,000, and the Wellington Memorial near Kilcooley is granted €10,000. Cahir Post Office is allocated €12,000, and €13,000 is earmarked for roof repairs at 5 Pierce Street in Cahir. The 1798 Monument in Clonmel will receive €4,285, the Michael Cusack Monument in Drangan will receive €4,000, and a house in Clonoulty Village will receive €3,500.
