John Ryan was regarded as one of the greats of Clonmel Commercials, winning five County Senior Championship medals during a distinguished club career.

Among those successes was a remarkable three-in-a-row in the 1960s, an achievement that secured his place among the elite players of his era.

His talent was equally evident at inter-county level. John proudly represented Tipperary in the Munster Championship, lining out at Junior level in 1953, 1954 and 1959, and at Senior level in 1953, 1954, 1959, 1960 and 1964, a testament to both his longevity and his standing within the game.

More than medals and victories, John will be remembered for the pride with which he represented his club and county and for the legacy he leaves behind in Clonmel Commercials.
