Tipperary Credit Union celebrated the launch of its €250,000 Community Fund with a special event at the Great National Hotel in Ballykisteen.

CEO Michael Moloney said that the Credit Union’s main jobs are to give people opportunities and to carefully manage members’ money. A group led by Marion Carroll will oversee the Community Fund, which is funded by the Credit Union’s profits.
Applicants may submit an application on the Credit Union website by March 31. Grants will range from €2,000 to €50,000. The results should be shared within four to six weeks of the deadline. There might be another chance to apply later in the year. The room was filled as the Tipperary Town Olympic Handball Club was chosen at random to receive a €500 donation. Earlier, Tipperary Credit Union extended its generosity further by contributing €5,000 to the Irish League of Credit Union International Development Fund, supporting the spread of the Credit Union model in low-income developing countries.
