Mo Chara Animal Rescue - Little Leela
Leela is a 13 week old terrier mix girl. Her mum is an Amstaff (American Staffordshire terrier) and her dad is a smaller wire haired terrier. This sweet girl came to us with her sister, Scruffy, looking for their forever homes. Scruffy being more laid back, friendly and calm, found her home quite quickly while little Leela waits at the kennels for that special person to come along and take her home.
Leela is outgoing and loves to play with everybody. She is just getting started with lead training and while excited by the idea of an “adventure” outside the kennel walls, she still needs reassurance when met with strange noises. With a little more training she will be out and about on her lead in no time as she enjoys company and exploring new surroundings.
We would love to see Leela find her new home, especially since her sister will be heading off to her forever home soon leaving poor Leela alone by herself at the kennels. As with all our dogs, Leela is wormed, vaccinated and microchipped. A neutering agreement will be signed before adopting and a home check and adoption fee will apply.
We have a street collection in Clonmel town on Saturday 28th April where we will be out and about for the day raising awareness for the work that we do and collecting some much needed funds to help the animals in our care. If you have some spare time and would like to help why not send us a message on our Facebook page. We would love to meet you and would be very grateful for any help at all, even if it’s just for an hour or two.
Lions Club Vintage and Classic Car Show
Thurles Lions Club will host its 2018 Vintage and Classic Car Show on Sunday May 13th, 2018 at MIC St. Patrick's Campus, Thurles. We will be returning with our dog show and cake sale so why not come along and join us for some fun. We love to see some of our former rescue dogs coming back to enter our dog show along with some new furry faces. Along with the vintage and classic car competitions there will also be craft stalls, a “foodfest” and “musicfest” and bouncy castles and face painting to keep the children entertained.
Don’t forget our charity shops are now open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm (Thurles: Knox Hall, and Cashel: Main Street). We thank you for your spectacular support of our fundraising sales in the past and hope that you will continue giving generously to the animals in our care through the purchase and donation of pre-loved goods!
