Paul Berrigan: New County Tipperary Chamber of Commerce president
County Tipperary Chamber of Commerce has appointed Paul Berrigan as its new president following its annual general meeting in the Abbey Court Hotel in Nenagh.
A Clonmel native, Paul is a qualified engineer and is a senior manager of engineering and maintenance at Boston Scientific in Clonmel, where he has worked on site for over 22 years.
Paul has been an active member on the board of the County Tipperary Chamber of Commerce for over three years, serving as director of partnership, liaising with local authorities and all SPCs for the chamber.
Paul also served as chairman for the last two years.
He takes over the role from outgoing President Paula Carney-Hoffler who held the position for four years.
“It is a tremendous honour to be appointed president of County Tipperary Chamber of Commerce. I am acutely aware of the important role that the chamber plays for its members across the county, and I am ready to hit the ground running,” he said following his appointment.
Paul said that he will endeavour to be an active voice on behalf of its members and to do so effectively.
The new president is no stranger to leading from the front and has been active in many clubs and societies across the county from tennis, golf and rugby to soccer and the GAA.
Ms Carney-Hoffler said: “It is an honour to hand over the chains of office to our new incoming president Paul Berrigan. Having worked closely with him over the last three years I firmly believe he is made for the role and will bring this chamber to the next level. I have no doubt he will be an incredible president and wonderful representative of our membership at a local, regional and a national level.”
