Tipperary hurler Patrick 'Bonner' Maher set to run marathon this weekend for charity

Tipperary and Lorrha hurler Patrick "Bonner" Maher is all set to run the Clonakilty marathon this weekend in an attempt to raise much needed funds for charity.

In aid of the Irish Cancer Society, Maher was originally down to run the Dublin City Marathon last month, however, it ended up clashing with Lorrha's county final win over Moneygall, and so Maher had to re-arrange the event to this event in Cork this Sunday.

Maher, who has been plagued with injuries in the last number of years, is all set to go to the pump again with Tipperary after this event, with Liam Cahill adding the Lorrha man to his training panel ahead of the new season.
