Tipperary soccer club receives huge funding windfall of over €100,000

€118,766.30 had been awarded to Ballymackey FC today under the Community Centres Investment Fund. This money is coming from the Department of Rural and Community Development and has been welcomed today by the Fianna Fáil Local Area Representative for the Nenagh Local Electoral Area, Ryan O’Meara.

Speaking on this today, Ryan O’Meara, who played underage with Ballymackey FC said: “Last August, Deputy Jackie Cahill TD and I brought the Minister for Sport, Jack Chambers to Ballinree to see first hand the development work completed to date on the Ballymackey FC grounds, as well as the exciting plans that George Haverty and the committee have for the development of the club over the coming phases of construction.

“Since then, we have worked closely with Minister Humphreys and her staff to see this funding over the line, and I am very grateful for their time in this regard.

“I am delighted to see this funding being approved by Government today, which will allow for the next phase of building to commence - the extension of the Community Centre element of the facilities that Ballymackey FC are developing.

“Huge credit is due to the Ballymackey FC committee and the local community for their work over the years in getting these top class facilities built”, Ryan concluded.
