Thurles actress Kerry Condon has been acknowledged for her brilliant role in the recent Martin McDonagh masterpiece 'Banshee's of Inisherin' after being nominated for a Golden Globe Award.
Condon (39) has been nominated in the 'Best Supporting Actress' category, and joins fellow Irish actors from the film Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Domhnall Gleeson, and Barry Keoghan on the shortlist to win a prestigious Golden Globe accolade.
London Irish filmmaker McDonagh is shortlisted for Best Director and Best Screenplay among his black comedy's nominations haul. In total, The Banshees of Inisherin has received eight nominations.
Condon's character, Siobhán, the sister of Pádraic (Farrell), serves as a steadfast voice of reason when these two men are reconciling with the end of their friendship in the film, and the Thurles native gave a very astute performance alongside some of the biggest names in Irish film.
The 80th Golden Globe Awards ceremony will air live on Tuesday, January 10th.
