'Very unsatisfactory way to decide the result' - 'golden' score decides Tipperary quarter-final

A 'golden' score decided last weekend's county under 17B football quarter-final game between Sologhead/Cappawhite v Silvermines.

Commiserations to the U17 Footballers of Cappawhite / Sologhead who lost out by the minimum margin to the Silvermines in last week’s county quarter-final.


Level at full-time and also at the end of extra-time, Silvermines were deemed the winners having registered the first score following extra- time.


This is a very unsatisfactory way to decide the result, surely a further five minutes each way extra-time followed by a penalty shoot-out if still level would seem the fairest option.
