Hardy souls ready to take the plunge in Templemore lake

Well done to all the hardy souls who braved the freezing waters of the lake in Templemore Town Park on Christmas day.
It was lovely to see such a great turnout following the Covid enforced layoff.

There were many familiar faces home to see their loved ones for Christmas and the fine crisp morning had everyone in good spirits.

Members of the Thomas McDonagh Pipe Band played a selection of festive tunes while the collection buckets rattled in support of the North Tipperary hospice.

And then came the big moment as all the swimmers took the plunge to great cheers from the large crowd gathered on the bank.

A quick walk around the woods and off home for the Christmas dinner.
Time to catch up with the family.

A great tradition in our town and long may it last.

Hats off to all those who make it happen.
