A double collision occurred on the M8 between Cashel and Thurles this afternoon following reports of icy stretches along the motorway.
The first collision occurred just before J7 Cashel North while the second accident was northbound between J9 Cashel South and J8 Fethard.

Both accidents have now been cleared however motorists are being urged to exercise extreme caution when travelling on roadways across the county due to stretches of black ice.
