Gardaí in North Cork apprehended a speeding SUV travelling at a staggering 156km/h on the M8 on Sunday.
In a patrol, Gardaí near Mitchelstown managed to bring the speeding Porsche driver to a stop.
They promptly conducted a routine check on the driver.
The roadside drugs test revealed the presence of cocaine in the driver's system, leading to immediate arrest.
The driver now faces serious charges after the positive drug test.
A Garda spokesperson has said: "His blood sample has been sent to the Medical Bureau of Road Safety for further analysis."
