Gardaí avoided a "close call" while on duty recently when they arrested a motorist on suspicion of intoxicated driving after spotting a pint in the cup holder.
Gardaí in Cellbridge were on duty when they observed the car being driven erratically, swerving between lanes, in the early hours of the morning on the N4.
Upon stopping the car, gardaí discovered a pint in the vehicle's cup holder.
The driver was arrested under suspicion of intoxicated driving.
