Outspoken MEP Clare Daly refused to talk to RTÉ after losing her European Parliament seat.
When asked for a comment, she rebuffed the RTÉ reporter.
"You have had no interest talking to me for five years, so I have no interest in talking to you," she said.
The MEP had been criticised by some for her stance on the Russian invasion of Ukraine with accusations that she was pro-Russia due to her opposition to sanctions being imposed on Russia.
In recent weeks she has gained considerable backing for her campaign from high profile figures including Annie Lennox of the Eurythmics and actor John Cusack.
