Pedestrian dies from injuries following collision with truck in Waterford

The pedestrian, a man in his sixties from Dungarvan, was treated in hospital for over a week before tragically passing away.

A Waterford pedestrian has passed away from his injuries in Cork University Hospital following a road incident in Waterford nearly two weeks ago.

Emergency services attended a serious road traffic accident on the N25 in West Waterford involving a pedestrian and a truck on the 9th June.

Gardaí were also at the scene, which occurred just after 6pm on the busy road. The pedestrian, a Dungarvan man aged in his 60s, was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

However, the man subsequently died from his injuries earlier this week.

The driver of the truck was uninjured during the collision.

A spokesperson from An Garda Síochána confirmed that enquiries into the incident are still ongoing.
