Gardaí are present today at an anti-immigration protest in Coolock, County Dublin.

The large gathering has caused the partial closure of Malahide Road in the Darndale direction as the protest takes place in the area.

The protest had been planned to take place at 2pm today between Greencastle Road and Newtown Cottages.

Those gathered are protesting against plans to convert an abandoned factory into migrant housing.

Coolock has seen numerous high profile protests in recent months, with clashes between gardaí and protestors breaking out on July 19.
