Gardaí arrest man in his 20s on suspicion of murder of Mary Ward in Belfast
Gardaí have said that they have arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of the murder of Mary Ward from Belfast.
Mary Ward, aged 22-years-old, was found dead by police at her home on Melrose Street in Belfast on Tuesday 1 October.
On Tuesday 8 October, the PSNI had announced they were launching a murder investigation into the death of the 22-year-old following extensive investigations by detectives in the Serious Crime Branch.

On Wednesday afternoon, 9 October, detectives attached to the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, assisted by DMR resources, arrested a male in his 20s in connection with the murder.
The man is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda Station in Dublin.
Gardaí have commenced a murder investigation in accordance with provisions under the Criminal Law (Jurisdiction) Act 1976.
An Garda Síochána said that they will continue to work closely with the PSNI on this investigation.
