A man has died and a woman has been seriously injured in a road crash in County Leitrim.
Gardaí and emergency services say they attended the scene of the fatal incident at Derryherk after the alarm was raised shortly before 7am.
"The single-vehicle collision occurred on a local road between Kinlough and Garrison. One of the occupants of the vehicle, a male in his 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body has since been removed to the morgue at Sligo University Hospital," said a garda spokesperson.
The other occupant of the vehicle, a woman in her 40s, was transferred to Sligo University Hospital for treatment of what are believed to be serious injuries.

A technical examination of the scene has been conducted by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road remains closed at this time.
Local diversions are in place and gardai say investigations are ongoing.
