Gardaí stand down search for 15-year-old boy missing for almost a week amid update

A 15-year-old from Louth who had been the subject of a missing person appeal has been located "safe and well", gardaí have confirmed.

Alex Byrne-McKenna was reported missing from Dundalk, Co. Louth since the evening of Tuesday, December 10. Alex was described to gardaí as being approximately 5 foot 6 inches in height, of slim build with brown hair and green/brown eyes.

When last seen Alex was wearing a black hoodie, black tracksuit bottoms and black runners.

"Gardaí would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance," a garda spokesperson said.
