Gardai have fined 15 motorists in one day for parking on narrow roads status orange weather warnings.
Gardaí took to social media to share one incident of a motorist in Roundwood, Co. Wicklow who parked on a narrow road around the Sally Gap.
"We understand that people want to take in the snowy scenery but please help us out and be responsible," said Gardai.
Comments and reactions have flooded in on the post, mostly criticising the intentions of the post, made by Gardai on X, including one user who said:
"Snow tourists ? People enjoying their own time … How about you organise a place to park safely … Easier to just fine people I guess .. government orders."

One X user also commented, "if people abandoned the cars because of dangerous roads it seems wrong to fine them."
An Garda Siochana replied to this comment with "Hi Margaret, we’re satisfied that those that have received fines did so for interfering with the flow of traffic in the area. ‘Snow tourists’ but snow place to park."
Another X user said, "You can clearly see that two lanes of traffic were trying to use the road which was then reduced to one lane in dangerous conditions by people parking why is it that a post asking people to be more considerate gets all of the country’s problems posted as a response?"
