'Great Idea!'- Ireland's first ever 24 hour vending machine shop is now open

Ireland's first every 24 hour vending machine shop

Ireland's first ever 24 hour vending machine shop is now fully operating for the first time in County Wexford.

The new facility is located in New Ross and has transformed a vacant building into a self-functioning vending machine store.

The vending machines stock convenience foods, like crisps, chocolate, milk, cereal, meal deals, drinks and healthy food options like salads to meet everyone's needs.

The digital creator, Jordon Casey said he was inspired by similar Eastern Asian outlets and, "it's just cool to have something like that for the first time in Ireland."

"To see the movement from concept to reality has been truly mind-blowing," he added.

The plan is to roll-out the vending machines all over the country.

"The aim is to offer customers something completely new, a fast, easy and enjoyable shopping experience," a local of New Ross, Tomas Young said.

According to the New Ross Facebook page, "Now customers just pop into the store pick up what they need, whenever they need it – a great flexible solution for busy workers."

The post received many positive comments, with some negative comments about the new store opening.

One person said, "I don't think this type of establishment is good for anyone. The more self service shops like this the less jobs are created. Look at all the young people that the likes centra employ.
Also is it cashless?"

Another person said, "The very best of luck to you all well done! Hopefully some lovely fresh produce available instead of processed foods now that would be a turn around".
