Gardai have issued an appeal for witnesses after a woman was seriously injured in a hit and run in County Kildare nearly two weeks ago.
In an update, issued this Saturday afternoon, they say the incident occurred over the bank holiday weekend at Derrymullen on the morning of Sunday, February 2.
"At approximately 11.15am, gardaí and emergency services responded to a single-vehicle hit and run collision on the R415 in Derrymullen, Allenwood, Kildare. A female pedestrian, aged in her 40s, was struck by a vehicle which failed to remain at the scene," said a spokesperson.
According to gardai, the woman was removed from the scene by ambulance to hospital with what have been described as "serious non-life threatening" injuries.

Investigating gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the hit and run to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and who were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available.
