Prosecuting Sergeant Regina McCarthy, told the court that on May 12, 2025, gardai received a call about damage done to two flower pots outside a pub in the town.
She said CCTV footage shows the two flower pots, each worth €150, being smashed and that Ms Walsh was subsequently identified as a suspect from the footage.
Sgt McCarthy added that, following her arrest on May 21, 2025, Ms Walsh was “very compliant” with gardaí and made full admissions to the offence.
Presiding Judge Marie Keane asked "Was it she didn't like the flowers in the pots?"
John Spencer, Ms Walsh's solicitor, explained that his client had informed him that she was "frustrated" on the day and that she told gardai that it was "anger as she was homeless at the time (of the offence)."
Judge Keane commented how during the summertime the local towns and villages around Tipperary "make efforts to enhance the street during summer for visitors" and that Ms Walsh's actions were "a random act of vandalism."
Mr Spencer said his client had "just lashed out" and that she was "very contrite". He added that Ms Walsh had brought €100 to court as partial compensation for the €300 worth of damage caused.
He told Judge Keane that she "has a home now and a more stable environment".
Judge Keane adjourned the case to March 6, 2026, to allow the defendant to pay the balance of the compensation, telling Ms Walsh that the "money needs to be discharged very quickly".
She warned Ms Walsh that "this is not going to be tolerated."
