ALERT: Phone and WiFi services down and road closed after fallen tree outside Tipperary village

Locals in Newcastle village are struggling with their WiFi and phone coverage

Locals in parts of Newcastle village, county Tipperary have been left with no phone or internet services after a fallen tree was removed earlier today.

The road connecting Newcastle to Ballymacarbry was closed overnight, and remains closed this evening, due to a fallen tree and electricity cables close to the bridge/county bounds.

Emergency services were on the scene to clear the debris earlier today (Tuesday).

However, the tree took with it a number of telecom and electricity lines.

Crews remain on site just outside of Newcastle attempting to restore these services to the area.
