Council to close street in county Tipperary town for several days next week

The R-689 Pike Street in Killenaule, from its junction with the R-691 to the L2301 junction, will be closed temporarily to facilitate the installation of water mains

Council to close street in county Tipperary town for several days next week

Tipperary County Council has made an order to close the R-689 Pike Street in Killenaule, from its junction with the R-691 to the L2301 junction, as a matter of urgency for a number of days next week to facilitate water mains installation and reinstatement of the roadway, footpaths and verges. 

This section of Pike Street will be closed from 7pm on Monday, February 23 to 7am on Thursday, February 26. 

The following diversions will be in place during the project. 

South bound approach to Killenaule: 

R-691 eastbound to R-690 southbound at Ballinagarry/Urlingford junction(8.4km), continue south to Mullinahone (10.7km), turn east onto the R692 then south directly onto the R690 to turn south-south-west onto the R-692 (1.4km), travel south on the R-692 toward 5-Eye Bridge (1.6km) and then west on the R-692 to Fethard (13.5km).

Northbound approach from Fethard (Eastbound): 

Travel south and east on the R-692 toward 5-Eye Bridge (13.5km), then north on the R-692 (1.6km) to head north onto the R690 to Mullinahone (1.4km), travel west and then immediately north onto the R-690 toward the Ballingarry junction(10.7km), then finally west on the R-691 to Killenaule (8.4km) Northbound approach from Fethard (Westbound): Travel west on the R-689 to the R-692 junction (0.4km) head north & northwest on the R692 to the M8  junction (14.1km), continue toward Cashel town on the R-692 junction of the R-691 (1.6km), continue on the R691 to Killenaule (17.4km).
