Kevin Maunsell on his way to winning the Boston Scientific Half-Marathon in Clonmel
The Boston Scientific Half Marathon takes place in Clonmel this Saturday with runners enjoying a new flat, scenic route that takes in country and urban areas.
Clonmel Athletic Club will be hosting the rescheduled Boston half-marathon with up to 1000 participants expected to take part.
Those driving in the area are asked to take care as the Clonmel and Kilsheelan areas will be busy for the duration of the race.
The marathon gets underway at 9am and will take in the Suir Blueway route and head along the Kilsheelan to Clonmel road.
Road users are asked to take extra care from before 8am on Saturday morning. The marathon is due to finish up around lunchtime on Saturday however it may stretch later into the afternoon.
Many running in the Dublin City Marathon use the Clonmel based race to prepare fully for the October event. Competitors can pay on the day, with entry priced at 35 euros. Registration on Saturday morning is from 7.30am.
