Clonmel rowers enjoy a great start to the new season

Early season winner Sean O'Donnell

The rowing regatta season is now in full swing and all of the hard indoor work put in by the rowers at Clonmel Rowing Club during the winter months is now paying off on the water.

There was a great turnout for the Neptune Regatta in Dublin  and many of the Clonmel team gave excellent performances.

Sean O’Donnell had a number of fabulous rows to win the Men’s Club 2 single scull.  Dylan Barry-O’Donovan and Brian Lynch also rowed very well in that competition.

Emily Fitzpatrick receives her winner's medal.

Emily Fitzpatrick and her teammate Sadhbh McGrath came first and second respectively in an all Clonmel final of the Women’s Club 2 in which Emily Maunsell and Daire Davern also performed well. Matt Dundon and Andrew Butler also rowed well in the Men’s Senior scull.

These excellent showings bode well for the rest of the season as the club goes from strength to strength.
