The Athletic has reported that former Republic of Ireland under-21 international Finn Azaz is set to sign for EFL Championship outfit Middlesbrough.
Azaz, on the books of Premier League side Aston Villa, has had an impressive loan stint for Plymouth Argyle in the English second tier this season.
The midfielder, who has registered seven goals and five assists during the current campaign, is expected to be recalled by Villa before signing for Boro in a deal worth in the region of €2.9 million.

The 23-year-old could make his Riverside Stadium debut against Unai Emery's side in the FA Cup third round this Saturday.
Boro, managed by ex-Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick, currently sit in 12th place on the Championship table.
