Tipperary County Council has received a planning application for the installation of three portable padel tennis courts in Nenagh.

Padel Sports 100 Limited aims to bring three modular courts with artificial grass to Stereame, creating a vibrant new hub for players.

The proposal features four-metre-high fencing, six-metre lighting, and additional site enhancements to complete the experience.

Padel tennis is played with solid, stringless rackets, offering a unique twist on the traditional game. The proposed 20 by 10 metre courts are designed for effortless assembly and relocation, leaving no trace on the landscape when moved.

Its not the only application the county council have received for the sport growing in popularity as a padel court in Cashel is also being in the application process

A decision from the council is anticipated by February 10.
