Tipperary men's shed to run workshops on biodiversity and water quality

Roscrea men's shed have announced that they will be running a series of workshops on biodiversity and water quality from May 23rd to June 6th. 

The workshops will be spread across four weeks with one taking place each Thursday from 7pm.  

The workshop schedule is as follows:

Workshop#1 - The Big Picture - The climate and biodiversity crisis; Ireland's climate action obligations; just transition to a low-carbon society. 

Workshop#2 - Hedgerows, Trees, Pollinators & Human Activities - how the surrounding landscape influences the lake. 

Workshop #3 - Citizen Science Project - the group will be taking samples from the Moneen River and testing water quality.

Workshop #4 - Boat Trip on Lough Derg for first-hand experience of lake habitats and ecosystems. Includes visit to Scariff wetlands (only accessible by boat); Mountshannon to view Sea Eagles and Garrykennedy for refreshments.

The courses are free of charge and open to all men over 18 with new members welcome.
