WATCH: Katie McCabe's latest 'scorching' goal sets social media alight

Ireland's women's captain has continued to impress football fans with her latest "scorching" goal setting social media alight.

Katie McCabe is currently trending on X (formerly Twitter) after her incredible shot from a distance flew into the right hand corner of the net during Ireland's Womem's Nation's League match against Hungary yesterday (September 26).

McCabe's goal was the second of the match after Caitlin Hayes scored the first on just her second appearance.

Subsequent goals by Kyra Carusa and Denise O'Sullivan secured a 4-0 win for Ireland.

It's the second win for Ireland since the exit of former coach, Vera Pauw.

Social media users have weighed in on McCabe's latest goal in particular, with one user stating, "Outrageous goal from Katie McCabe" and another commenting, "After that stupendous goal from the corner kick at World Cup, Katie McCabe is back to put us in awe with another wonder strike.."

Another user stated, "Katie McCabe slowly creeping up to be one of my favourite players (after Mary Fowler ofc)" with another stating, "HOLY MOLY KATIE MCCABE. [She] simply cannot be stopped."

The Irish team are now top of their group, followed by Northern Ireland, Albania and Hungary.
