Tipperary students compete in soapbox competition

Clonmel Youth Information Centre recently held a soapbox competition in Clonmel Library as part of Time to Move, a collection of events for young people organised during October 2016.  

Students from the Presentation Secondary School, the CBS High School and the Loreto Convent were involved in the competition. 

The overall winner was Sinead Gaughran (Transition Year, Loreto); the Most Interesting and Entertaining Speech award went to Dillon English (Transition Year, CBS  High School); Most Interesting and Entertaining Speech award went to Síne Landers (Transition Year, Presentation Secondary School); and the Most Original Speech award went to Nene Lonergan (Transition Year, Presentation Secondary School).

Nene Lonergan later went on to win the regional finals in Waterford and will represent Clonmel in the national final next Tuesday, November 8, at the National Concert Hall in Dublin.
