Current and past teachers celebrating Our Lady of Mercy Primary School's 50th anniversary.
Our Lady of Mercy Primary School in Cahir recently invited members of the community that had any connections with the school over the past 50 years to attend their anniversary celebrations.
There has been much activity in the school since it opened in 1966, with many generations walking its halls over the years. Past pupils, parents and many staff members as well as boards of management and parents councils were present for the special occasion.
Mass was celebrated in St. Mary's Parish Church, followed delicious homemade refreshments in the school hall. There were also some beautiful displays made by pupils as well as many old photos and school roll books to examine in the colourfully decorated school hall.
