Tipperary Athletics: Great turnouts for Guinan’s Super Valu Spring League

GUINAN’S SUPERVALU SPRING LEAGUE 2023 CONCLUDES
The annual Guinan’s Super Value Spring League concluded on Tuesday, February 21.
Thanks to Guinan’s SuperValu Carrick-on-Suir for supporting and sponsoring the prizes, James Sullivan for providing a room for registration and our club committee members for organising and managing the seven week spring league.
Delighted to get to see a great turnout, supporting our local league.
The weekly predicts your time 4k event had run every Tuesday night at Lower Ballylynch for seven weeks with prize giving at the Junction Bar on the final night, well done to the following categories winners who were presented with their prizes by Club Chairperson Catherine O’Donovan and PJ Guinan of Guinan’s SuperValu, Carrick on Suir in the following categories.
1st place team of Ann Cronin, Maurice Boland and Pat Parle 1:47
2nd place team of Nicola Fitzgerald, Leanne Phelan and Grainne Brennan 2:27
3rd place team of Bridget Walsh, Caroline O’Neill and Yvonne Walsh 2:39
Best Time Prediction, Female: Deirdre Power 1:25 Male: Benny Hahessy 1:44
Best Improvers, Female: Cathy Norris 5:16 & Male: John Carroll 2:11.

NATIONAL MASTER CROSS COUNTRY 2023
Well done to our three Athletes that took part in the National Master Cross Country at Gowran, Co. Kilkenny on Sunday, February 12.
27th Dermot Gorman 24:02 9th o/40.
112th Eugene O’Keeffe 26:29 22nd o/50.
155th Keith Fraher 27:53 24th o/45.

DERMOT GORMAN TIPPERARY NOVICE ROAD CHAMPION FOR 2023
The Tipperary Novice Road Championships took place at Moyne and hosted by Moyne Athletic Club, In the men’s race with over eighty runners taking part we four runners competing,
Well done to Dermot Gorman on winning in 19:37 followed by Eugene O’Keeffe in 21:36, Keith Fraher in 21:48 and Eoghan Coughlan in 23:58.

KILLEAGH GAA 4 MILE ROAD RACE
The Killeagh GAA 4 mile road race was held at Killeagh, Cork on Sunday, February 26.
With well over 200 runners Eugene O’Keeffe ran excellent race to finished 18th overall and win 1st o/50 in a new PB time of 23.35, well done Eugene
