Clonmel Celtic 4 – 0 Clonmel Town
An early brace from Sean Brown set Clonmel Celtic on their way to a comfortable 4-0 win against local rivals Clonmel Town in the derby game on Sunday.
The game was only a minute old when the deadlock was broken, with Sean Brown firing low to the corner to give the hosts the lead.
They doubled that advantage on the quarter hour mark, when Brown struck again, this time firing a fine half volley to the net with the Clonmel Town keeper rooted to the spot.
When Darren Sweeney headed home on 28th minutes it looked a case of damage limitation for the visitors as Celtic went to the break three goals to the good.
Early in the second half Philip Drohan saw his effort scrambled off the line but the respite was brief for Town as Cian O’Sullivan scored from close range to make it 4-0.
Town battled away but Celtic didn’t have to be at their best as they ran out comfortable winners.
