Two Mile Borris 6 – 0 Bansha Celtic
Two Mile Borris assured themselves of Premier League football next season when they opened up a substantial gap between themselves and the bottom three with a strong performance and a six-goal win at home to Bansha Celtic on Sunday.
The hosts were in charge from the early minutes, and had a number of chances before they took the lead in the 20th minute when Loran O’Toole finished off a Jamie Lee corner in the 20th minute.
They added a second when Daniel Rafter scored from close range just after the half- hour mark, and made it 3-0 before the break when Jamie Lee finished off some good approach play by the midfield.
The second period followed a similar pattern to the first, with Borris well on top, and they added the fourth goal on the hour mark when Lee cut through the middle and fired past the ‘keeper from the edge of the area.
The same player hit the post ten minutes later when looking for his hat-trick. But he didn’t have to wait too long, getting that third goal to make it five-nil ten minutes from time.
The goal of the game came in the final minutes, when youth player Louis Coughlan, who had come on as a sub, slammed a 35-yard free kick to the net to the delight of the Borris supporters to put the cherry on the top of a very good home performance.
