New fund aims to increase club membership and sports participation in Tipperary

The Coaching Fund will support and develop quality coaching and encourage all coaches/volunteers to undertake appropriate education and training through their relevant national governing bodies

Tipperary Sports Partnership aims to develop sport and increase physical activity in Tipperary with its Coaching and Development Fund.

This fund plans to support the setting up of new clubs or sections and assist clubs to increase their capacity to deliver sport and physical activity, and in turn increase membership and sports participation locally.

It also aims to support good governance in clubs. This funding scheme is supported by Sport Ireland and Tipperary County Council. 

The Coaching Fund will support and develop quality coaching in Tipperary and encourage all coaches/volunteers to undertake appropriate education and training through their relevant national governing bodies. 

The Development Fund aims to encourage the establishment of new clubs and assist existing clubs to increase participation. 

Projects should focus on attracting new members/participants from target groups as identified in Tipperary Sports Partnership's Strategic Plan such as disadvantaged areas, older adults, young people, people with disabilities, women and girls, unemployed and ethnic minorities. 

Applicants can apply under either the Development or Coaching section or both up to the maximum amount. 

The maximum that can be applied for by any applicant under this scheme is €1,000.

The closing date for completed application forms is May 16 at 4pm.
