Officers, players and mentors from all the clubs across the division came together at Monroe last Thursday evening to attend the official launch of the 2024 South Tipperary GAA Championships.
The event was organised by the South GAA Board and was a great success.
Players from every club and grade attended, wearing their club jerseys.
It was obvious from the numbers present from each club that there was an appetite for such an event.
Competition sponsors were also in attendance, as were a good number of the division’s referees.
Stevie O’Donnell from Tipp Mid West Radio Sport came along to see how proceedings went and to interview some of the Board officers, sponsors and team mentors.
The atmosphere was very positive and people seemed to really enjoy the opportunity to get together for a chat before the serious business of championship action starts.
It was a great chance for club representatives to meet the sponsors and referees in a very informal setting.

South Board Chairman Nicholas Moroney welcomed everyone and thanked all the clubs for fully getting behind the launch, before wishing them all the best for the season ahead.
Nicholas thanked the competition sponsors, who he said are vital to the running of the championships.
President Noel Byrne thanked the clubs for bestowing the honour of president upon him and also wished every club well for the year ahead.
PRO Pat Murphy ran through the order of proceedings.
South Board Secretary John Lonergan, along with Vice Secretary Jean O’ Connor, and Board members Larry Molan and Catherine Mockler were all in attendance.
The feeling on the night from those present was that this event should be held annually.
Many thanks are extended to the Moyle Rovers club for the use of their fantastic facilities at Monroe to hold the launch.
The first competition to start in the division will be the Junior A football, which got underway on this Saturday, with the Junior B football following quickly on Wednesday May 29.
The Senior and Intermediate football championships will begin in early June, with the hurling competitions scheduled to start in late June and early July.
Best of luck to all the clubs in the division for the year ahead.
