Carrick-on-Suir athletics star to represent Ireland in European Youth Track & Field Championships

Carrick-on-Suir AC hurdles star Miriam Daly

Carrick-on-Suir Athletics Club track star Miriam Daly has been selected to represent Ireland in the European Youth Track & Field Championships in Hungary between July 5 and 9. 

The Scoil Mhuire student will compete against the best U-18 athletes in Europe in the 400m hurdles and also the medley relay. 

Miriam has so far won the National Indoor 400m title and the Irish Senior Schools 400m hurdles title. 

She also broke the Irish junior record U-20 in the 4x4 relay in the last couple of weeks. 

Carrick AC said everyone at the Club was proud of Miriam and thanked her parents Ray and Marion Daly for all their support. Thanks also to the CLUB TLG group, Shane McCormack, Phil Healy and the training group and her main training partners Rose Ann Fitzgerald, Jack Pender and Jake Vermeer, who were a massive help during the year. Thanks also to Rens Vermeer and Mick Pender for all their support, physio Paul Darcy and pilates coach Nuala Pender, who kept Miriam in tip top condition all season.
