Ciara O'Donoghue accepts the winning prize from Clonmel Golf Club Lady Captain Liz Binchy
Lady Captain Liz Binchy was at the Clubhouse early on Saturday morning 23rd June to greet club members as they took to the fairways.
There was a great sense of excitement and anticipation as the ladies chatted before teeing-off at their appointed times.
Fifty-seven ladies took part in the main competition followed by the 9 Hole Competition, and Liz’s family and friends played in the afternoon. Nobody was left out on this important day, whether a novice, guest, young or old, or whether you wanted to play 9 or 18 holes.
Around 100 lady members, family and friends, attended a beautifully prepared club house for a superb dinner, prepared by Martin, Michael and staff.

After the meal Lady Captain Liz thanked the lady members, her family and friends who made her day such a huge success.
After praising the fabulous meal, Liz began by thanking Ned, Frank and staff for having the course in magnificent condition. She went on to thank her Lady Vice Captain Deirdre Ronan and her hard working Committee, Aine Myles Keating (Secretary Manager), Mick Mullane (President) and Tony Horne (Mens Captain) for all their help and support throughout the year.
She also thanked her family and friends for coming and taking part on her special day.

Although Lady Captain Liz was definitely the No 1 Lady on the day, it was also a fantastic occasion for Ciara O’Donoghue who won the the prestigious Lady Captain's Prize and a beautiful neckpiece from the Ryan Thomas Collection.
Celebrations continued in the Clubhouse into the early hours, with no one wanting to go home on a such balmy summer’s night.
Definitely a day and night that will long be remembered at Clonmel Golf Club in the years to come.
