Tributes paid to Tipperary man who died after long illness

Tributes have been paid to a Tipperary man who passed away after a "long illness".

John Kearney of Ikerrin Court, Thurles, Tipperary / Ballagh, Tipperary, passed away on July 22 after a long illness bravely borne.

Surrounded by his family, he died in the wonderful care of the staff of Tipperary University Hospital, Clonmel.

Predeceased by his parents Paddy and Margaret, sister Josie and baby brother Michael. He will be sadly missed by his heartbroken family; devoted wife Margaret (née Spillane), daughter Yvonne, son Shane, grandchildren Megan, Alex and Aoife, daughter-in-law Fiona, brothers Philip and Patrick, sister Mary, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunt Mary, relatives, colleagues in Taylor Made (Templemore), neighbours and friends.

"My sincere condolences to Margaret, Yvonne, Shane and all John's family and friends at this time. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. May John rest in eternal peace," paid someone in tribute.
"Sincere sympathy to Margaret, Shane and Yvonne on the sad passing of John, may he rest in eternal peace," wrote someone in tribute.

Reposing in Hugh Ryan's Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles on Wednesday, 24th July, from 5pm to 7pm. Arriving at the Cathedral of the Assumption, Thurles on Thursday, 25th July, at 10.30am for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St Patrick's Cemetery, Thurles. The Mass can be viewed here.
