'Are the streets of Tipperary paved with gold?' - Public reacts to Michael Lowry controversy

Following statements from Tipperary North Independent TD Michael Lowry on the ongoing investigation into the findings of the Moriarty Tribunal, the public have been having their say on X/Twitter to the 'kingmaker' serving as a key person in government formation talks.

One person on X posted: "Are the streets of Tipperary paved with gold or something? How the hell does this criminal keep getting elected?"

Many X/Twitter users expressed shock, disgust and unease at Lowry's continued involvement in government formation talks, some questioned why his Tipperary North constituents continue to vote for him.

One X user said: "Michael Lowry won't be getting a ministry, so what is his constituency deal? Resurrection of the supercasino plan? Will this be Nenagh Castle Street by 2027?"

Another posted: "Lowry walks away after questions about Moriarty Tribunal, says media has been ‘trying to undermine’ him (via@thejournal_ie) Is that the accountability the people of Tipperary voted for? Walking away when asked a legitimate question."
