Over 300 new social and affordable homes are in various stages of progression in one Tipperary district.
304 new council homes within the Thurles Municipal District are currently at various stages of the planning and building process, councillors were informed at the March meeting of the Thurles district.
Two projects are due for completion this year, however it is not yet known exactly when these new homes will be ready for their new tenants.
61 new homes at Dun Lia in Thurles, and 50 units at Glencarrick in Roscrea are under construction by Cluid Approved Housing Body (AHB) and are due for completion in 2025.

17 new homes have been approved for Gantly Road in Roscrea, with stage two designs approved, and a Part 8 planning application is set to follow.
In Thurles, designs have recommenced for six new units on the CuChulainn Road, which will then move on for revised stage two approval.
At the Radharc na Carraige development in Glencarrick, Roscrea, a contractor is on site with delivery of 47 units expected in 2026.
A contractor has been appointed to build nine units at Grove Street, Roscrea, while in Templemore, one of two units on Church Street has been completed, with the second one awaiting ESB connection.

At Ma Chaoin in Templemore, five out of 13 units are finished, with the others still undergoing construction with a phased delivery ongoing throughout 2025 and 2026.
In Borrisoleigh, 30 units are stage one approved, with a design team set to be appointed to the project.
The Templemore Approved Housing Body development of 23 units in the town has been refused planning permission by An Bord Pleanála, with a design review the next step for this development.
In Roscrea, the 32 units at Friary Walk to be delivered by Cluid AHB will be delivered on a phased basis, while on Church Street in Templemore, four units are in turnkey condition since the vendor withdrew from the process.
