LIVE: Planning application lodged in Tipperary for major new residential development

Major new residential development on the Brittas Road in Thurles.

A planning application has been submitted to Tipperary County Council for a major new residential development on the Brittas Road in Thurles.

The proposed development, submitted by O’Ceallaigh Westfield Ltd, includes the construction of 52 residential units.

The breakdown of the housing types is as follows:

3 four-bedroom, seven-person two-storey semi-detached houses (House Type G),

15 three-bedroom, five-person two-storey semi-detached houses (House Type H),

18 three-bedroom, five-person two-storey semi-detached or terraced houses (House Type K),

and two two-storey duplex blocks (Blocks C & D).

Each duplex block will consist of four ground-floor two-bedroom, three-person units (Duplex Type A) and four first-floor one-bedroom, two-person units (Duplex Type B).

The application also seeks permission for a new vehicular entrance to the site from Brittas Road, along with associated local roads and footpaths.

Provision has been made for both resident and visitor car parking, bicycle parking, a communal external bin store, landscaping and amenity areas, boundary treatments, lighting, and site drainage.

All associated site development works are included in the application.

The council has until September 3 to make its decision.
