This year marks a special year for this event, as the group remembers the man who founded the event, Rody Tierney.

Rody is one of the founding members of the Galtee Walking Club, and it is his hard work throughout the years that leaves the club in the strong position it is in today.

Rody passed away in January of this year, and his passing left a hole within the Galtee Walking Club.

To remember Rody, the club wanted to revive this wonderful event that Rody cared so deeply for.
