Councillors in the Tipperary/Cahir/Cashel Municipal District have been encouraged to support the Love Tipperary Gift Card, at their recent monthly meeting held on Monday November 14.
The ‘Love Tipperary Gift Card’ was launched in 2024 by Tipperary County Council and the Tipperary Chamber of Commerce, in a bid to encourage spending in shops around Tipperary. “If we can keep this money here, this is a way we can support the county,” said a spokesperson for the council.
The presentation shown to the meeting showed that there have been €250,000 in Love Tipperary Card sales since November of 2024. Figures show that the average spend of the card is €84 per transaction and that 74,000 has been redeemed already from those cards.

“You can encourage the merchants within each of your towns to sign up to accept the card,” councillors were told.
The Council said that due to the late unveiling of the gift card last year, they expect businesses this year to purchase cards to give employees a tax free gift this Christmas.
