WARNING: Met Éireann issues urgent nine-day weather alert for Tipperary

The advisory is valid from 11am on Sunday, February 1 to 12am (midnight) on Monday, February 9.

Met Éireann has issued a Moderate Weather Advisory for Tipperary this Bank Holiday weekend.

The alert message from met Éireann says: "Spells of heavy and persistent rainfall will continue through the week of February 2, particularly in southern and eastern coastal counties.

"Rain will fall on saturated ground where river levels are high with high tides expected this week. This will lead to further flooding along rivers and in coastal areas.

"Close monitoring of local weather conditions via met.ie and river gauge datawaterlevel.ie is strongly advised.
