An Garda Síochána in Tipperary have officially launched the Tipperary Garda Youth Awards 2026, with nominations now open to recognise exceptional young people across the county.
The Garda Youth Awards celebrate outstanding young people aged between 13 and 21 years who are making a meaningful and positive contribution to their communities.

The awards acknowledge the important role young people play in building stronger, safer and more inclusive communities throughout County Tipperary.
Through these awards, Tipperary Gardaí aim to highlight the remarkable achievements of young individuals and groups who, through their actions, leadership, resilience or innovation, are helping to make their communities better places to live.
Awards will also recognise young people who have demonstrated exceptional determination in overcoming personal challenges.
Nominations are invited across four categories.
The Individual Award will be awarded for making a positive contribution to their community, making it a better place to live.
The Group Award will be awarded to a group of two or more young people making a positive contribution to the community, making it a better place to live.

The Special Achievement Award will be awarded to someone who has overcome difficult circumstances, defied the odds and whose commitment deserves recognition.
The Community Safety Award will be awarded to someone who, through a crime prevention or safety initiative/innovation, have made their community a safer place to live.
Nomination forms are now available on the Garda website at www.garda.ie.
The closing date for receipt of nominations is Friday, March 27.
All nominees will be considered by an independent judging panel, who will select winners in each category.
This year’s judging panel includes former Tipperary Hurler Brendan Cummins, Tipp FM Radio Presenter Andrew Looby, and Tipperary Footballer and Australian Rules Player Aishling Moloney.
The awards ceremony will take place at the Garda College, Templemore on Tuesday, April 28.
Tipperary Gardaí encourage members of the public, schools, youth organisations and community groups to nominate deserving young people who are making a real difference.
