Scarecrow Festival
There's plenty to crow about in the picturesque Laois village of Durrow these days for they are preparing to host their 9th annual Scarecrow Festival July 29 to August 6. There is a €4,000 prize-fund for the Scarecrow and large Round Baler competitions which annually attracts over 100 entries.

Holycross FC Fundraiser
Holycross FC annual fundraiser ‘Night at the Dogs’ will be held this Saturday night, June 30th, in Thurles Greyhound Stadium. Tickets can be purchased through the club telephone 086 6029178 or at Holycross Stores.

Tractor Run
Miss Macra Festival Annual Tractor Run will take place on Sunday, 8th July. Registration at 12.30pm in Clonoulty Village. This year's charity is South Tipperary Hospice and all support for such a worthwhile cause would be greatly appreciated.

Mike Denver in Concert
See Mike Denver in Concert at the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh on June 28th in aid of Nenagh Branch Irish Wheelchair Association. Doors open at 8.30pm and concert starts at 9pm. Admission costs €25 and tickets are available from Templemore Arms Hotel, Bourkes Pharmacy Roscrea, Bookworm Thurles, Joe & Angela Starr Nenagh, Cuts and Curls Cashel.

Nenagh Castle Fest
Head to Nenagh this Friday June 29 for the first of three nights of top class entertainment featuring the likes of Sharon Shannon and Johnny Brady. The festival kicks off on Friday at 7.30pm with Ceol@Castlefest - a traditional music and dance concert in Nenagh Arts Centre. Saturday sees traditional music workshops in Nenagh Arts Centre at 10.30am, before the Live@TheCastle stage sees Johnny Brady and his band on stage at 4.30pm and later on that evening, local man James McGrath will raise the curtain for the second headline act of the day, the amazing Sharon Shannon and friends, at 7.30pm. Nenagh Ormond Brass Band will kick things off on Sunday at 1pm with Ebony and Crystal Swing on hand to get the Castle Field jiving. For full list of line up check out @NenaghCastlefest on Facebook.

Cut Loose
A stellar lineup of artists including Nathan Carter, Derek Ryan and Louise Morrissey are set to return to Holycross on July 15th for the annual Cut Loose country music festival. U12's go free once accompanied by an adult. Tickets €20 available from tickets.ie.

The Frank and Walters
Indie rockers The Frank and Walters are set to play a much anticipated show in Bakers Clonmel on July 5th at 9pm. Tickets €20.

Aslan play the GAA Complex Golden on August Bank holiday weekend on Saturday August 4th. Tickets €20.
