Nenagh performers storm the stage at Electric Picnic

A group of performers from North Tipperary have received glowing reviews following a special performance at this year’s Electric Picnic festival.

Lisa Manning, Damian O Donoghue, Adrian Fahy and Joanna Ryan Purcell from Nenagh’s Blue Door Studio took to the stage in the Global Green area of the festival earlier this month where they performed a section from Ryan Purcell’s adaptation of the Children of Lir.

The Blue Door Studio is a dedicated space set up by artist, writer and performer Joanna Ryan-Purcell. It was officially opened by Hollywood actor Patrick Bergin last June and has since played host to art classes, comedy events and live music sessions.

On Friday September 21st the venue will play host to Culture Night with an afternoon and evening of music, poetry, theatre and comedy at the Blue Door Sessions from 4pm to 11pm. The Blue Door is located at 5 Pearse Street, Nenagh.

Drop in to the Blue Door for an afternoon and evening of music, poetry, theatre and comedy at the Blue Door Sessions; a new space for performers of any kind to present their work. Culture Night 2018 falls on the same day as International Peace Day and to mark it the evening will be opened with an introduction to Heartfulness Meditation. Below is the itinerary for the evening:
